Huge Changes...but why? | Cornwall Maternity & Newborn Photographer
First blog post on my brand new website, with my brand new name & some brand new changes! Whew...it's been a interesting journey to make these changes & none of them were made lightly...there was some soul searching, some "ah ha" moments, some hesitation (is this right for me?) & at last the "just take the jump" moment to make the changes. It was & still is a scary adventure but life is either a great adventure or nothing.
Why the name change?
I am sure there are plenty of clients (past & present) that are scratching their heads wondering "why even change your business name?"...good question. Believe me, I asked myself the same question numerous times during this process...the reason mainly was..the old name was too generic. There was some meaning behind it but it didn't speak to my "why"-the reason why I love photography. My photography is more than just the click of the camera, it is about the experience. It is about more than the moment captured, it is reperesentative of your all encompassing love for your new husband(or wife), those first precious snuggles with your newborn child or tickle time with your five year old during a family session. Each of these moments have drastically changed your life & are truly more than just a moment in your mind. Each of my images will bring a smile to your face and a warm glow from your heart, and that is why I absolutely love what I do! So as you can see, the name change was a needed one...it now speaks to my "why"....
Yes there is a new name, but that's not the only change happening!
I will also be specializing in maternity and newborn photography. I believe that there is nothing quite like capturing life’s most precious gifts... newborns & babies. As a mama myself, I remember how quickly those first few weeks passes in a blur of exhaustion, joy, tears & wonderment. You need to capture this time, the time when your baby is still curled up as they were inside you, when they can still fit in the palms of your two hands or their limbs or eyelashes have yet to unfurl... these moments pass by so quickly. You do not want to miss it...believe me, once this moment has past & they begin to grow oh so quickly, we can not push back the hands of time & relive the moment. The images we have are the only way to remember how little their feet were, the little bubbles they made on their lips, their wispy hair as a newborn & even the little "stork bites" on their forehead. Every day they will change & before you realize it...they are 1-2-4 months old!
Will you still photograph my wedding or family???
Yes, I would love too!!!! I have been blessed to photograph many of my clients big moments in their lives...engagement, wedding, maternity & addition of their newest family member! Nothing makes me happier than being able to capture all those "firsts" for them & to gain their friendship along the way...it truly is the most rewarding part of my job & I am so appreciative that they have trusted me :)
