I love the Milestone Collection!!! Such an amazing way to capture this extraordinary time in couple’s lives, bringing a new life into the world!!! This collection captures memories during maternity (towards the end of your pregnancy) & newborn moments (fresh 48 or newborn session) plus when baby is learning to sit on their own (sitter session) & also their first birthday!
As a special bonus, I become well acquainted with these clients…we see each other every few months as we share stories each session, almost becoming our own support group!
Meet Dayna & Chris….such a wonderful couple that welcomed their first child into their family over a year ago! They chose to have the maternity session from their Milestone Collection enrolment & it was perfect! The weather cooperated with us & we were lucky enough to have lilac’s in bloom for our session! These two truly made my job easy with how comfortable they were with each other & their easy going personalities!
Grant’s newborn session was textbook!! This new family just rocked this session with snuggles, smiles & love abound!! Studio newborn sessions are scheduled 7 to 12 days after birth, while baby still loves to be swaddled, sleepy & posed in those sweet curled up positions.
As I go through this blog post, I really can’t believe how quickly Grant’s first year went by!! Before you know it, it’s sitter session time…WHAT?!?! I had high expectations from this family for his session & they of course didn’t disappoint!
Sitter sessions generally are finished in 30 to 45 minutes, babies at this age have short attention spans & are ready for a snack plus nap time towards the end of our session. Being a model is hard work! Some families choose to have their family picture updated at each session…it is encouraged but it’s not a requirement!
Oh my goodness, how I miss seeing that sweet face!!! This was the perfect first birthday session to finish off this collection….I am always a little sad during this last session!
Families are encouraged again to update their family portrait, not a requirement but many do take advantage of this & almost always include the whole family. Many also take advantage of the cake smash option for this final session, it’s again not a requirement but a fun way to finish off the collection. If cake isn't an option, there are plenty of other substitutes…donuts, watermelon, spaghetti or paint…let your imagination go crazy!!
Once the final session is delivered, it’s time to make the hard decision of which images go into the album?! Milestone Collections included a album that displays clients favourite images during baby’s first year. What a perfect way to display all their changes!!
