Studio Newborn Session | Cornwall, Ontario

Not only are newborn sessions my favourite things to photograph…they are extra special when I already know the client!! I have played soccer with Kalica for many years, almost too many to say! When she contacted me to photograph her 2nd baby girl Araya, I was thrilled to welcome her & her family into the studio!

I almost always start with family & parent poses first…sometimes Dad’s need to sneak out back to work so I really try to start here. Luckily for me Steve was ready to go & we were able to knock these family & individual posing out of the gate!

Sibling photos can be very tricky, everything is so new to the older sibling. They are dealing with a new little baby, that cries & gets all of the attention, also trying to settle into this new role of “mommy’s little helper”…so sometimes they aren't too thrilled with the idea of a photos with baby. But Kinley was more than willing to lie down with her new little sister Araya!

Araya was the perfect little lady!! She slept basically the whole session & was a little dream to photograph! The images of her in the newborn bed are my favourite!!

Opps… I was so wrapped up in moving through our setups, that I forgot to add in a little tieback to the pail images! Completely my bad…but she still looks perfect in them!! Newborn sessions are generally scheduled 6-12 days after birth, while baby is still sleepy & loves to be swaddled.
