Country Family Session | Glengarry, Ontario

Today’s feature is from a family session that I photographed last summer, for the Phypers family. I have seen Sally & her children around the arena in Char lan for many years, but never really knew her till she booked a family session with me last year. When I arrived at their home, her children were super excited to show me around & introduce me to their four legged family members!

Charlotte, Oliver & Ben were a little shy at the beginning of our session but soon were laughing & relaxed! With most children, they are the most relaxed in familiar surroundings either their favourite park, backyard or playground helps to put them at ease. Tickling with your siblings is also a great way to keep everyone relaxed!

Their backyard was perfect!! Such beautiful light, we did luck out with a stellar evening that day! It wasn’t hard to find the perfect spots for their family photos! Sally’s husband Jack, really wanted to keep the images with the children as natural as possible! I love it when parents understand that their children don’t need to smile perfectly at the camera. Parents favourite images from a session are always the ones where Mom or Dad can point too a image & say “you captured them as they are!”

I really enjoyed our session together last summer, my favourite sessions are the ones where all the family members are included…dogs, cats, horses or cows! Except for snakes…that I won’t do ;)
