In Home Newborn Session | South Mountain, Ontario

Just finishing up with prepping to send out hockey photos!! This year, I was the photographer for our local hockey association Char lan Minor Hockey & it’s the first time that I have done everything on my own! Last time there were two of us but this year it’s just me! Whew…there are 18 teams to photograph, edit & prep orders for…so LOTS of computer time!!

Also, catching up on answering messages from new & former clients that are taking advantage of the Super Saver Deals from this past weekend! There are some amazing offers to members of the V.I.P List & if you haven’t received a response check your inbox by this evening!! If you are curious as to what the deals were & your not on the list, here is how you can join in on the savings… #1 - add you name to the V.I.P List, just fill out the pop form to join. #2 - send me a quick email to let me know you have joined the V.I.P List & I will send you this weekends deals

So, that is why I am a little late posting this blog feature but it’s better late than never!! Today’s feature is a in home newborn session for a couple that had been past wedding clients!! These two amazing people are always SO fun to work with & I am always excited to photograph them…now they have a new addition…Jack!!

Jack’s nursery is certainly one of my favourites!! I love the elephant theme & the beautiful grey colours that accent it! Grey is one of my favourite colours…is grey technically a colour or tone??

In home sessions are amazing for new parents, there isn’t the stress of getting ready & heading out the door or the issue of “forgetting” something, as everything is right there at home! Mike & Lisa live in South Mountain, so it’s a bit of a drive to get to my home especially with a newborn. I had no issues travelling up to their beautiful home & spend some time with them during our session together.

Bonus of in home sessions is that baby doesn’t necessarily have to be sleeping for our session! As long as they are happy & content, they can be awake. Awake images are just as perfect as sleeping ones, everyone loves to see their face with eyes open too!

In the end, I almost always manage to soothe even the most awake newborn to sleep! One of the biggest tricks is swaddling…there will be a future blog post about swaddling & other helpful tips for parents. Keep an eye out for those in the coming weeks!

Just wanted to take a minute to thank Mike & Lisa for asking me to photograph their newest addition to their family!! It was actually Lisa’s mother who gifted this session to them…thanks Lisa’s mom!! :)

It was amazing to spend some time with these two again & little Jack is SO lucky to have them for his parents!!
